1. Material Overview

H-beams (wide-flange beams), characterized by their distinctive "H" cross-section with parallel flanges and central web, have become the preferred choice for modern truss construction. Manufactured under international standards including ASTM A992 (Fy=345 MPa) and EN 10025 S355, these hot-rolled sections offer:

• ‌Optimized sectional properties‌: Typical dimensions range from 100×100×6×8mm to 900×300×16×28mm (H×B×tw×tf)
• ‌Superior load-bearing capacity‌: Section modulus (Sx) up to 6,380 cm³ for heavy-duty applications
• ‌Enhanced stability‌: Flange width-to-thickness ratios controlled below 0.56√(E/Fy) per AISC 360

2. Structural Configuration

H-beam trusses employ three principal arrangements:

1. ‌Parallel Chord Trusses‌:

   • Top/Bottom chords: HEA 400-600 series
   • Web members: Circular Hollow Sections (CHS) with K/Joint connections
   • Typical spans: 24-60m for industrial roofs

2. ‌Triangular Trusses‌:

   • Hybrid systems combining HEB 300 chords with T-section verticals
   • Node spacing optimized at 1/8~1/12 of span length

3. ‌Curved Chord Systems‌:

   • Fabricated from tapered H-beams (EN 10210) with curvature radii ≥15m
   • Applications: Stadium cantilevers and arch bridges
